My name is Jamison Lorraine and it has been 0 days since my last crepe cone. We went back to the Doughbox Diner (for the second time in a week) after a tiring third trip to IKEA and fourth to Kmart (cute, trendy Australian Kmart) since moving. I feel like we're trapped in an infinite loop. This time we got a savory crepe with chicken, bacon, mushrooms, spring onion, tomato, avocado, cheese and sour cream. It was a giant funnel of happiness (and bacon grease). Our plan was to snag another "Malt in My Mouth" dessert crepe, but we decided to lighten things up with gelato instead...because, you know - health and stuff. Cow & The Moon gelato bar always seemed to have a queue around the corner, so we gave it a go. I had strawberry balsamic and hazelnut roché and Pickle had mint chip and cookies and cream. It was a delicious decision! |
Last night we drove up to the Blue Mountains for dinner with the family of a uni colleague. It was a great meal and a fun evening with lots of laughs. Much of the rest of the week has been spent catching up on work, purchasing (...and returning, and purchasing, and returning, and purchasing) things for the apartment, and assembling furniture. I stayed home to be here when the fridge arrived (it's BYOF when you rent here), and our IKEA sofa bed boxes came on the same day. I assembled an 8-cube storage unit, a small dining set, and a pull-out sofa bed with chaise lounge (Pickle was planning to help, but I wanted to get it set up before he got home to surprise him.) I have to say, there's something pretty satisfying about turning a pile of parts into a room full of furniture! My dad has helped me assemble several new furniture purchases through the years, from bedroom suites to dining sets...I think he'd be proud of my IKEA accomplishments :) OK - it's back to work for me now, but I'm looking forward to some fun time this weekend. Have a great one!

The apartment is bright and cheery! Congrats on the furniture assemblage! That gene might be missing from the Sickel DNA :) However, I can totally relate to the "crepe a day" craving! They look delicious! Have a great weekend.

Thanks, Christine! It'll be nice when our household goods arrive and we can give the place a little more character, but furniture or not, I'm loving the apartment and the view!
